Programs & Projects

Cultural tourism program

This program is in its finally stages to implementation. A total of six (6) Hadzabe youth have been trained in basic tourist guiding and English language, another six (three females and 3 males) are now in training so that we attain our aim of at least twelve (12) guides. An office building is under construction to provide office space and a small curio/gift shop. If all goes well, we are planning to start the project early next tourist season (2013).

Health services

Supported by various benefactors including the Kobo Trust, the community members are now assured of best available health services, including the use of ambulance, at the Askofu Hhando Health Centre in Barazani. The CBO has set up a fund to accommodate medication, laboratory examinations, and welfare of the sick members who will be admitted at the said institution.
The Health centre also provides, each month, a free MCH clinic for all our members

Food distribution

Due to our nature, we do not rear animals nor farm, therefore it is obvious due to the rampant encroachment of our ancestral hunting lands and foraging areas our people are sometimes faced by the problem of hunger. It became imperative that people must be helped to get some rations of food items. With cooperation of Leopard Tours we are able to provide each camp with some maize, beans and cooking oil once every month to supplement the small game that we can hunt, fruits and tubers. The program is in full swing and members are very thankful for it.
